Independent voices

Corporate consolidation has hollowed out American political journalism, and the vacuum has been filled largely by the right. The people below built something else — independent, audience-funded outlets that answer to their readers and listeners rather than to advertisers, networks, or billionaire owners. Several of them were pushed out of mainstream media for saying things their employers would not tolerate. All of them are worth your attention, and most are worth your subscription: this work only exists because audiences pay for it directly.
