Biography
Emma Vigeland began her career as a field reporter, producer, and commentator for The Young Turks, covering campaigns and protests on the ground — an apprenticeship that shaped a style built more on direct reporting than studio punditry.
She joined The Majority Report as co-host in 2020, and now anchors the Thursday program, known to listeners as the Emmajority Report. She has become one of the show's most recognizable voices, particularly on Gaza, press freedom, and labor.
Her interviews have included Jodie Ginsberg, CEO of the Committee to Protect Journalists, on the killing of journalists in Lebanon and Gaza — a subject she has returned to persistently as coverage elsewhere has faded.
Vigeland is an active member of the Democratic Socialists of America and regularly promotes DSA organizing to the show's audience, including the launch of its 2026–27 program. She is among the younger hosts who have moved left media from commentary toward direct organizing.
